He was an avid and talented Golfer and spent many happy years on various golf courses with his family and friends.  He was a member of Dalton Golf and Country Club and served on the Board of Directors.  His prized Golf Trophy was his Senior Championship Winner.
One of his passions was the Roman Open Golf Tournament held annually at DGCC.  He served 25 plus years as tournament director and  lived long enough to see the Proceeds from that Tournament increase dramatically over the years.  Those Proceeds were given to local charities and were a Godsend for their causes.
Even though he was born a Yankee, he adopted the  Southern Lifestyle with vigor. He called Dalton his home for 40 plus years.  He was always amazed at the caring and gracious ways of we Southerners. He vowed to never shovel another flake of snow!
