Helen Marie McDonald, 75, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

She was the daughter of the late Amos and Nellie Davis and was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Willard and Thurman Davis and two sisters, Louise Summey and Arlene Rymer.

Helen retired from Shaw Industries and enjoyed traveling and reading. Her greatest love was her family.

She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.

Survivors include her husband, Joel McDonald, daughter, Angela Cruse (Tim), all of Ringgold, GA, two grandchildren, Kimberly McNeese (Bobby), T. J. Cruse (Jessica), two great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Addison, three sisters, Juanita Parker, Geneva Smith, Linda Loughridge, brother, Hubert Davis, all of Chatsworth, GA, brother-in-law, Morris McDonald, of Cleveland, TN, sister-in-law, Mildred White, of Colorado and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, 2362 Highway 76, Chatsworth, GA  30705, with Rev. Crafton Dover officiating. Burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.

Raymond Russell Ramsey, Jr: Obituary

Raymond Russell Ramsey, Jr. age 83 of Rocky Face, passed away Wednesday, February 27th 2020 at his home.

Mr. Ramsey was a graduate of West Point Military Academy and he retired from the United States Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Eric Ramsey.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ramsey; sons, Raymond Russell Ramsey III and James (Melissa) Marr; granddaughters, Kalea, McKenna, and Karah Marr; daughter, Julie Marr; granddaughters, Destinee Kamran and Presley Marr; special niece and nephew, Kay and Jim Wrinkle; and other relatives.

Military honors will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 6th 2020 from the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Friday, March 6th 2020.

Mr. John M. “Dink” Nicholson, 71 of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Redmond Hospital.

John was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in the yard and loved and cherished his time with the grandbabies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Jane Nicholson; brothers, George Nicholson, Marshall Nicholson, and Wayne Nicholson; sisters, Clare Jones, Lois Nicholson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Nicholson of Chatsworth; step-daughters and spouse, Amanda Williams of Rome, Sonya and David Martin of Chatsworth, Katrina Williams of Chatsworth; brother, Richard Nicholson of Chatsworth, sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Leonard Keener of Chatsworth, Fannie and Gene Hooker of Dalton, Frances Lawson of Oneida, TN; grandchildren, Ada, Robert, Valerie; extended family also survives.

A memorial reception will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Peeples Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Loyd R.A. Nolan age 96, of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Chatsworth Healthcare Center.

Mr. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allen Nolan and Ora Gray Nolan; brother, Jimmy J. Nolan; sisters, Lorean Greeson, Louise Carter, and Juanita Awtry; mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Hensley and father-in-law, William Roosevelt Hensley.

Survivors include wife, Inez Nolan of Chatsworth; son, Lamar Nolan (Wilma) of Chatsworth; daughter, Janice Cochran (Jerry) of Crandall; grandchildren, Michelle Kilgore and Heather Hallman; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ashley Kilgore; step-grandchildren, Teresa Davis, Leeann Bentley, and Faith Brown; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Nolan will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Boynton officiating. Interment will follow in the Berean Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay, GA.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Henson, Davis Wiley, and Denton Keener; parents, Tom and Ella Lou Weaver Gallman; and sister Ruby Gallman Silvers.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Wiley; adopted daughter, Tonya McIntosh; sisters, Will Dee Stahr and Beverly Bryson; niece, Amy Byson; nieces and nephews.

Wilma Jean McEntire age 83, of Crandall, passed away on February 25, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. McEntire is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Laurie Lewis and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Raymond Eugene McEntire: children and spouses, Elaine and Clay Ryals of Chatsworth, David and Ingrid  McEntire of Saluda, NC, Wanda and Phil Stafford of Crandall, Gail and Scott Westmoreland of Chatsworth Joe and Kim McEntire of Crandall:  several grandchildren and great-grandchildren nieces and nephews also survive. Services for Mrs. McEntire will be Friday, February 28, 2020, at 1 PM in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with  Rev. Joe Tomblin and Rev. Memorial service will be Sunday, March 1, 2020, at 2 PM at Holly Creek Baptist Church. Rev.Danny Cochran will be officiating.

Ms. Judy Divonna Lowe age 62 of Crandall, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Judy was a member of Little County Church; she enjoyed fishing, shopping, and eating.

Ms. Lowe was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary K. Watson.

Survivors include a daughter, Penny Watson of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Brenda Watson of Crandall, George and Angela Watson of Blue Ridge and David Watson; sisters, Novella Cross, Linda Lambert, and Mary Rose Cook –all of Murray Co., Evelyn Brock of Dalton, and Shirley Green of Ringgold; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Watson Family Cemetery with Bro. Lewis Watson, Bro. Doug Hawkins, and Bro. Mike Law officiating.

Glynn “Bud” Boydston, II: Obituary

Glynn “Bud” Boydston, II passed away in Bremen, GA on February 14, 2020. He is now free from pain and the worries of this earthly life.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, February 21, 2020, at Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth, GA. Bud will be laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date.

Born July 30, 1951, Bud graduated from Dougherty High School in Albany, GA in 1969. He lived mainly around the Murray and Whitfield County area but did spend some time in Florida and Kentucky. He loved spending time with his family, playing and watching golf, and kayaking in Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia.  He loved telling stories to those he loved that would brighten their day. Bud was quick with his wit and loved making people smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Glynn M. Boydston and Inez Tauzin Boydston; and his brothers: John M. Boydston and Timothy P. Boydston.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Glynn M. Boydston, III and Ginny Brewer-Boydston; his sisters: Mary Thrower and her husband Bob of Bonaire, Elaine DiBenedetto and her husband Savy of Houston, TX, Sue A. Dobos and her husband Michael of Perry, and Nadine A. Boydston of Albany; and many nieces and nephews.
