Mr. Terry Lee Carroll age 58 of Chatsworth passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Sonja Carroll, and a grandson Jaxson Dakota Briggs Carroll.  Brothers, Dennis and Mark Carroll.

Survivors include his daughter Sonja Carroll of Chatsworth. Grandchildren, Jericho, Tyler, Sabastian, and Payton all of Chatsworth.

Several cousins and many friends.

Memorial services will be Friday at 2 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.

Mr. Bill Osborne age 82 of Chatsworth passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his spouse Marie Osborne, brother, Charles Osborne and two sisters, Mildred Keener and Katheryn Nance.

Survivors include his spouse Dorothy Osborne. children and spouses, Lisa and Jimmy Patterson, Darrell Osborne, Terry and Linda Osborne, Larry and Margaret Osborne, Tammy Osborne and Patsy Ervin all of Chatsworth. Brother and sister in law, Bob and Jean Osborne of Hixson, TN and a sister Genny Barnes of Calhoun. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Steve Corbin and Mark Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Amazing Grace Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday 6 till 9 pm.  In lieu of flowers please make donations for final expenses.

Mr. Everette Junior Patterson, 83 of the Dawnville Community, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Everette was preceded in death by his parents, Erskin and Lola Patterson; brothers, Virgle Patterson, Earl Patterson, and Ray Patterson; sisters, Lucy Jones, and Mamie Betterton.

Survivors include his loving wife Shirley Patterson of the Dawnville Community; son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Juanita Dill of Ringgold; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dewayne Tallent of Chatsworth, Pam and An Nguyen of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, William and Jedessa Patterson of Chatsworth; sister, Peggy Flood of Eton; several grandchildren and several Great-grandchildren; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Patterson will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 12:00 with Rev. Keith Deal officiating. Interment will follow in United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Gary was the owner and operator of Gary Sitton Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Greathel Quarles Sitton.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Sitton will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the Holly Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Cochran and Rev. John Bagley officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Grooms, and mother, Tennie Grooms.

Funeral services for Mr. Grooms will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Ballew and Rev. Bobby Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth.

Glynda Wallace Gowan, age 84,  passed away on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 at her home in Cohutta with her loving husband Eber by her side. She was born on February 13, 1935, in Statham, GA.

She married Eber Eugene Gowan on December 30, 1961, in Bogart GA. They raised their family and lived in Dalton until moving to Cohutta.

Glynda was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. Glynda and Eber traveled extensively, she loved to tell stories about her travels and raising her family. Her beautiful life and memory will be cherished and kept alive by her husband Eber Gowan: children and spouses, Christoper and Diane Gowan, Rick and Lisa Gowan, Kim and Tom Ryan, Jeff and Kinma Gowan, Jan and Shannon Miners, and 10 grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Murray County High School.

Survivors include brother and sister in law: Kenneth and Eric Brehm, brothers: Robert Scott Brehm, and Joseph Andrew Brehm all of Chatsworth, fiancé: Tammy Lewis Slaughter of Calhoun. Several nieces and nephews and tons of friends also survive.

Martha Loreine Payne Matthews: Obituary

Martha Loreine Payne Matthews, age 77, of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Advent Murray Hospital.

Loreine graduated Murray County High School in 1959 and lettered on the Murray County Varsity basketball team. She went to work in the Superior Court for 20 years. Then became the first elected woman in Murray County as Clerk of Superior Court, where she served for 24 years.

She is preceded in death by parents: Cecil and Chassie Payne, sister and brother in law: Katherine  and Johnny Reynolds, brother:  Ray Payne

She is survived by her son: Tony Matthews of Chatsworth grandchildren: Garrett Matthews of Chatsworth, Katie Matthews  Sloan and Zack Sloan, great-grandchildren: Brentley and Brooke Matthews, sister: Ann Walden of Crandall, special friends:  Craig and Karen Gibson of Chatsworth, nieces and nephews: Tina Russell Ballard of Chatsworth,  Sandra Holcomb and Jim Becton of Chatsworth, Robert and Gail Reynolds of Tulsa Ok, Andy Payne, Brian Payne and Samantha Willis, all of  Webster County other nieces and nephews also survive.

He was an artist, musician, actor, and storyteller.

Don enjoyed classic cars, fishing, and outdoor recreation. He was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club of America (Lookout Mountain Region) and the Antique Automobile Club of America (Chickamauga and Northwest Georgia Regions).

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Silvers Sosebee; parents, LeRoy and Estelle Sosebee; brother, Buff Sosebee; and sister, Carolyn Ramey.
