William “Fred” Grooms, age 85, of Chatsworth passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Grooms, and mother, Tennie Grooms.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Grooms; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Craig Ridley of Resaca, Diane and Rick Davenport of Chatsworth, and Debbie and David Stover of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Brandy Hall (Chad), Miranda Harmon, Kim Thurman (Eric), Jennifer Morrison (Brett), Eric Elrod (Amanda), Kelly Elrod, and Michael Davenport (Holli); great-grandchildren, Bailey Hall, Gage Hall, Henley Hall, Bree Hall, Greenlee Hall, Preston Harmon, Carter Harmon, Garrett Jones, Ethan Jones, Mackenzie Thurman, Riley Morrison, Cohen Elrod, and Weston Elrod; sisters-in-law, Agnes Ogles of Dalton and Sarah Ogles of Chatsworth; and brother-in-law, Glenn Ogles of Ellijay.

Funeral services for Mr. Grooms will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Ballew and Rev. Bobby Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
