Mr. Timothy Allen Sayre of Dalton passed away at Hamilton Medical Center on August 24, 2019.
He was born in Westland, Michigan on August 17, 1951.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Oscar Woodrow and Marjorie (Curtis) Sayre, sister: Karen Sanchez, brothers: Earnest Sayre, Mike Sayre, and Brian Sayre.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law: Shawna and David Hardin, grandson: Brooks Hardin, brother and sister in law: Lonnie and Joan Sayre. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends: Mike and Darlene Caylor, Dale Kennedy and Boo Walker, and his ABATE family. Tim enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, cheering for the Falcons and he never met a dog he didn’t like.
He will be cremated and there will be a private celebration of life on September 8th.

Mrs. Sherry Toneice Quinn, age 57, of Chatsworth, passed away at Rome Regional Hospital on August 21, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ray and Maxine Ensley, and one brother: Bobby Ensley.
She is survived by husband: Bryan Lee Quinn of Chatsworth, children: Kasi Goley and Joseph Goley both of Chatsworth, Michael Quinn of Dalton, grandson: Colt Goley, of Chatsworth, sister: Kathy Taylor of Chatsworth, aunts: Jacqueline Gladden of Crandall and Janette Gibson of Chatsworth, Uncle Tommy Childers of Chatsworth and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Quinn will be in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, at 5 PM with Rev Bobby Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 until 5 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Marian T. Capehart of Rocky Face passed away at Parkridge Hospital on August 20, 2019.
Marian was an example of what a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother should be and aspired to. Her family was at the center of everything she did and she leaves behind a family that will always miss and love her, but is both blessed and thankful to have her grace their lives. The heavens just gained another angel. She was a member of the Naomi Class at Grove Level Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Naomi Holloway and Paul Trammel Thompson and preceded in death by her husband, William B. (Billy) Hill and Rufus (June) Capehart, sister: Doris (Dot) and Ceb Coley, Charles Talley, and brother: Lamar (Marty) Thompson, and niece : Cindy Thompson Morgan.
She is survived by her son: William L. (Larry) Hill and Dana of Chatsworth, daughters: Anna Krista Kirk of Dalton, Angela Daniel & Mark of Rossville, grandchildren: Wm. Bart Hill and Katherine of Dalton, Scotlyn & Josh Wilson of Rome, Lindsey and Jeremy Itson of Cave Springs, Tiffany and Shane Keith of Lafayette, Stephanie and Derik Dilbeck of Chatsworth, Kaityn Daniel of Palmyra, MO., and Kayley Daniel of Rossville, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters: Sue Talley of Tampa, FL, Sharon and Troy Jordan of Chatsworth and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial service for Mrs. Capehart will be Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 2 PM in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Eve Irene “Granny” Lofty passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at her residence
She was a life long resident of Cohutta, GA. She was born in Dalton, Ga. on September 28, 1952, the daughter of J.C. and Inez Rich.. She was known as Granny to several people. She always helped others, there was no one that walked in her door that she didn’t offer a bite to eat.
She is preceded in death by her parents: J.C. and Inez Rich, stepmother: Eula Rich, son: Billy Maples, husband: Charles Lofty and several brothers and sisters..

Don Self age 66 of Ringgold, Ga passed away Monday, August 19th 2019, after a 3 year battle with Multi System Atrophy-P.
Don was retired after 39 years with Mayfield Dairy. He was a member and deacon for 30 years of New Bethel Baptist church, Ringgold. He dearly loved his church and his church family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Louise Self; father and mother-in-law, Lester and Dot Townsend; brothers-in-law, Michael Townsend and Jim Elrod.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Self; son, Scott (Becky) Self; grandchildren, Taylor (Samantha) Self, Kyle Self, and great-grandson A. J. Self; brothers, Gene Self, Randall Self; sister, Betsy Self, and his favorite sister-in-law, Brenda Elrod.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Don Self will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 24th 2019 from the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with Preacher Don Self and his Pastor, Bro Roy Gentry Jr. officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by parents: Charlie and Grace Gowan, brother: Charles Gown, Jr., John Thomas Gowan, and Harold Peters, sister: Martha Sue Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife: Betty “Jo” Gowan of Chatsworth, sons and daughters in law: James Edward and Jackie Gowan of Chatsworth, Robert Michael and Sheila Gowan of Rossville, Ronald Thomas and Aletha Gowan of Chattanooga, brother and sister in law: Gene and Linda Gowan of Lafayette. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
At his request he will be cremated and no service.

She was a member of Tennga Baptist Church.

He was a long-time employee of Ingles Market, Loved his children, grandchildren and being outdoors riding his four-wheeler.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents: J.B. and Eloise Jones, sister: Kay Weaver, stepdad: Melvin Land.

Martha “Sis” Caroline (Cook) Damron: Obituary
Obituaries August 8, 2019
Martha Caroline Cook Damron, known to everyone simply as “Sis”, passed away Tuesday evening August 6th, at Windsor House in Canton, Georgia. She was a part of the Tunnel Hill, GA community for most of her life. She is a graduate of McMinn County High School in Athens, TN, University of Tennessee, where she was a sister of the Alpha Xi Delta Social Sorority, and Georgia State University. She worked for Whitfield County Schools from 1969, until her retirement. Sis was a teacher at Tunnel Hill Elementary and then a Librarian at Westside High School. She opened Northwest Whitfield High School in 1975 and retired from there as a Media Specialist. At Northwest she was known for making a huge strawberry cake each month to celebrate staff birthdays. She was part of the Whifield County Retired Teachers Association, and always cherished the friends that she worked with.
Mrs. Damron was a member of the Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church since moving to Tunnel Hill in 1969. She instilled strong Christian values in her daughters and grandchildren and was a supporter of FCA. Sis was a member of the choir and always sang hymns, especially to her grandbabies when rocking them to sleep. She was a strong Christian who demonstrated the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ through cooking and baking for others, and always showing the light of Our Lord in her smile and in her gentle way and kind words.
Sis was preceded in death by her father and mother, George William “GW” Cook and Catherine Hoback Cook of Athens, TN, as well as her husband of 50 years, Otis LaVerne Damron, of Tunnel Hill.
She is survived by her daughters Emilie Caroline Damron Windham of Woodstock, GA, and Colby Len Damron Robertson of Dalton, GA, as well as her older brother George “Pat” Cook of Marion, NC, and younger sister Rebecca Ann “Becki” Janeway of Chapel Hill, NC. She was a constant play companion and incredibly proud of her five grandchildren, Nathan Parish Windham, Mary Gracen “Gigi” Robertson, Rielly Catherine Windham, Davis Christopher Windham, and Ellis Cook Robertson. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many dear and precious friends. Sis was a light to those around her and always a positive, happy soul shining her light and love to those she was with.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Sis Damron will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, August 10th 2019, at Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Tenney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 until 12:00.

Nadine Ruth LaFuze (nee Yeater): Obituary
Obituaries August 8, 2019Nadine Ruth LaFuze (nee Yeater) died at Hamilton Medical Center on August 6, 2019, in Dalton, GA. She was 70.
Nadine was born on February 2, 1949, in Reedsville, PA to parents, Charles Jr and Ruth Yeater. She married Michael LaFuze in 1967 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Mike and Nadine lived in Richmond, IN (1989), Nokomis, FL (2001) and Rocky Face, GA.
She was a founding member and first President of the John Henniger Lodge #63 Fraternal Order of Police in Richmond, IN. and an active member at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Dalton, GA.
Nadine is survived by her husband Mike, daughter Annette and granddaughter Genna Oshier of Rocky Face, GA. as well as her son, Adam and son-in-law Filippo of Rome, Italy. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Yeater Jr; mother Ruth Yeater; and brother Charles Yeater.
A memorial will take place on August 12, 2019, at Christ the King Church in Dalton, GA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nadine’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 1168 Dalton, GA 30723-1268, designated for Peeples Cancer Institute in memory of Nadine LaFuze.
