Mrs. Eve Irene “Granny” Lofty passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at her residence
She was a life long resident of Cohutta, GA. She was born in Dalton, Ga. on September 28, 1952, the daughter of J.C. and Inez Rich.. She was known as Granny to several people. She always helped others, there was no one that walked in her door that she didn’t offer a bite to eat.
She is preceded in death by her parents: J.C. and Inez Rich, stepmother: Eula Rich, son: Billy Maples, husband: Charles Lofty and several brothers and sisters..
She is survived by a daughter: Ruth Maples of Cohutta, granddaughters: Ashley and Brandon Silvers of Cleveland, TN., Brittney Gates of Shelbyville, KY., son and daughter in law: Luther and Michelle Cagle of Cohutta, grandsons: James Cagle of Cohutta, Coty White of Fort Oglethorpe. daughter: Darlene Sexton of Maryville, TN., stepchildren: Charlie Cagle, Mike Cagle, David Cagle, Ruby Payne and Connie Baggett, great-grandchildren: Drake, Kaden, Landon ,Willis, Ashlenn Silvers, Breanna Gates, Levi and Hunter Brown, sister and brother in law: Louise and Bill Wheat of Cohutta,, brother: Jerry Rich of Cohutta, nieces and nephews: Marshelle Cabe of Varnell, Krystal and Rob Davis , Myracl Cabe-Davis of Cohutta, William and Emily Aaron, Leighanna, Cheyenne, Jocelynn Piper , Aaton and Layla Duke of Green Cove, FL. Tabitha Tinsley, Keionta and Rai Jahn Aaron, Ellis Tinsley of Cohutta, Jake and Teresa Wheat of Maryville, Brandon Johnson, Brenda Rich and Keyley LeRoy and many more family and friends.
Service will be held at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 4 PM wit Rev. Largwin Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on from 2 until 4 PM at the funeral home. Pall bearers will be Rob Davis, James Cagle, Jake Wheat, Jerry O’Neal and Trent Clark .
In lieu of flowers, donations to funeral expenses will be appreciated.
