Gunther qualified for 14th Congressional race

Election 2020
Gunther qualified for 14th

Andy Gunther qualified for the 14th Congressional race.

Army Veteran and U.S. HUD Inspector Andy Gunther qualified for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.

Retired Army veteran and U.S. Dept. of HUD Inspector Andy Gunther officially announces his candidacy for Georgia’s 14th District Congressional seat.

A former Airborne Instructor, Ranger, competitive (military rifle) marksmanship Gold Medalist, and R.O.T.C. instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Gunther served as Civil Military Affairs Administrator in Kosovo.  In that capacity, he frequently met with community leaders, citizens and non-governmental organizations.  Gunther additionally helped coordinate humanitarian aid efforts to a municipality of 43 villages following a magnitude 5.7 earthquake. It was during Gunther’s military service that he learned the importance of servant leadership.

Following his military retirement, Gunther completed his MBA in Management from the University of West Georgia, where he was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society. Gunther also established a small business servicing government contracts for the U.S. Dept. of HUD. His daily work significantly improves the quality of life for thousands who live within the 14th District and throughout the United State and Puerto Rico.

Andy Gunther was born in Stuttgart, Germany where his father was stationed.  When his father, an Army veteran of the Korea and Vietnam wars retired after 26 years of service, Andy’s family moved to Maryland. Even as a youth, Gunther served in a leadership role on an active and very successful ground search and rescue team in Civil Air Patrol, where he first learned valuable skills as a servant leader. Gunther started working at age 13 on cattle, poultry and produce farms. He also worked after school as a restaurant laborer and cook and in a production facility making rail road flares.

Gunther’s passion to serve his nation led him to join the Army in 1981 as the youngest person in his training company. Gunther served more than twenty-years in arduous duty stations and challenging leadership roles as an Airborne Infantryman and Ranger. During those years Gunther still found time to volunteer with Special Olympics, chaperone the seniors on their church outings and serve as a Boy Scout leader and youth athletic coach.

Upon retirement, Andy Gunther and his wife, Victoria, and two sons Christopher and Jonathan, returned to Victoria’s home town of Bremen, in Haralson County. Once again, Gunther volunteered as a Boy Scout leader and later as Civil Air Patrol Squadron Commander and air and ground search team member for the Rome Composite Squadron at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport. Gunther additionally enjoyed teaching Discipleship classes, participating on the pre-school board and singing in choir at his church.

As a member and current Vice Chair of the Haralson County Republican Party, Gunther serves as a member of the 14th District Committee and previously served on the Rules Committee and as sergeant-at arms during district conventions. Additionally, Gunther has participated in numerous county, district and State conventions as well as volunteering for many grassroots campaigns since 2003.

Now, Gunther wants to bring that same servant leadership to the 14th District.  “I believe God has called me to humbly serve in the most significant way I know how, as your Congressman.”

As a staunch constitutional conservative, Gunther believes that this country was founded on Christian principles and that “the separation of church and state” is a lie. Our Republic apart from God is doomed to fail as evidenced by the events we continue to witness throughout the country.

“I also believe the two issues that most directly affect people in this district,” said Gunther, “are the opioid crisis and solving the shortage of foster care. Children in need of foster care should not be shipped across the state, out of their own communities.”

Bullock seeking Georgia’s 14th Congressional seat

Election 2020, Politics

Ben Bullock, US Air Force veteran, has made the decision to run in the 14th district after learning about Tom Graves’ future retirement.

In a recent statement, Ben noted, “I can think of no greater honor than to serve Northwest Georgia where my family has such deep roots. For over 200 years, my family has lived, served in both the military and elected office, farmed, and operated small businesses in the 14th congressional district. To continue that legacy is a dream come true, and moving in that direction is where I truly believe that God is leading this campaign team.”

He continued, “and after the recent escalations with Iran, I am eager to use my background as a military intelligence officer, which includes years of studying the Iran problem, for our collective mission of strengthening defense and keeping America safe. I can’t wait to see everyone out on the campaign trail.”

Clayton Fuller announces run for 14th Congressional seat

Election, Politics
Clay Brown runs for the 14th district

Since I first announced, in January, I have crisscrossed this district many times, meeting all the knowledgeable and hardworking constituents of the 14th District. Without interactions like those, I can’t adequately and effectively represent the district.

North Georgia deserves another constitutional conservative that will make sure our community and nation prosper. I’ve spent a lifetime putting community first. Whether it was during my time in the White House as a President Trump appointee, as a local prosecutor here in North Georgia, or during my military career.

I’m a conservative Republican, I’ll help President Trump stop illegal immigration, defend our 2nd Amendment rights, combat the opioid and methamphetamine epidemics, and protect the unborn.

I look forward to the opportunity to continue my lifelong passion for community representation, and on May 19th, I ask for your vote.

Greene announces 14th Congressional run

Election, Politics
Whitfield GOP
My name is Marjorie Greene and I’m running to be Northwest Georgia’s next Congresswoman.

I’ve never held or run for political office before. I’m a political outsider, job creator, and problem solver.

I 100% stand with President Trump against the left-wing socialists who want to destroy our country.

I’ve also been endorsed by Congressman Jim Jordan and Congressman Matt Gaetz – two of President Trump’s strongest defenders in Congress.

Like President Trump, I’m a business owner in the construction industry creating thousands of jobs in 11 states. I’ve spent my life building my businesses and raising my three amazing children alongside my husband Perry.

But I cannot sit by while Nancy Pelosi, AOC and Ilhan Omar roadblock President Trump and the will of the American people.

I’m sick and tired of their anti-Trump, anti-America rhetoric, and their phony witch hunt to REMOVE President Trump from office.

I’m running because I care about our country. And once I’m elected, I’m going to fight against the socialists in Congress trying to ram their agenda down the throat of every man, woman and child.

You see, I’ve already faced down Nancy Pelosi when I delivered the “Impeach Nancy Pelosi” petition I started straight to her office. You may have even signed it yourself along with 329,000 other Americans.

And AOC? She shut the door and locked me out when I confronted her about her job-crushing “Green New Deal.”

I’ve also faced down the Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action and David Hogg when I fought back against dangerous “Red Flag Gun Confiscation.”

And February of last year, I organized one of the biggest Build the Wall rallies to support President Trump’s border wall, shutting down Pennsylvania Avenue.

I don’t just pay lip service like career politicians. I’m a fighter and always have been. And I put my words into action. Imagine what I’ll do once I’m elected.

Republicans need more strong, conservative woman who won’t back down in the face of left-wing attacks.

The “Socialist Squad” members like AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib. . .they’ve never faced a strong, pro-Trump conservative woman.

In fact, they’ve never faced a southern mom of three!

The Republican party can’t afford more Mitt Romney-type Republicans who care more about being liked by the Fake News Media than they do about standing firm for conservative values.

I will fight to DEFUND abortion mills like Planned Parenthood. I will NEVER vote for gun control, and fight against “Red Flag Gun Confiscation.”

I will pass TERM LIMITS on Congress. The American people are sick of the career politicians. We need to pass Term Limits to get them out!

I will fight to Secure the Border: Build the Wall, Fully Fund Our Border Patrol, Defund Sanctuary Cities.

The stakes are too high in 2020 for me to sit back and do nothing. The battle against socialism is about the heart and soul of America. And President Trump needs more allies in Congress.

My campaign strategy is simple: People over Politicians. I will win the May 19 Republican Primary one voter at a time.

Vote Marjorie Greene in the May 19 Republican Primary.

Save America, Stop Socialism!

Cooke announces 14th Congressional run

Election, Politics

Today Kevin Cooke, the current State Representative in Georgia’s 18th district, announced his candidacy for Congress.

“Representing the people of Haralson and Carroll counties in Atlanta has been an honor, but the last nine years have not always been easy. Being in the majority taught me that political party alone is not an accurate way to measure a person’s principles and beliefs in limited government.

It’s easy to stand up to the radical left and their liberal agenda, any establishment politician can do it. The question is who do you trust to stand up to big government Republicans behind closed doors in Washington? Contrary to popular belief, a giant wave of socialism is not the biggest threat facing our nation, but rather it is the slow drift away from our Constitution allowed for decades by BOTH parties that stands to destroy our country.

Choosing a candidate based on rhetoric is dangerous and conservatives fall for it every cycle.

This is a Republican primary in Georgia. We will all say we want to stop socialism, support our President, protect life, defend the second amendment and build the wall.

Talk is cheap.

It’s no longer enough to send ‘conservatives’ to Washington, we need proven principled conservatives.

For nearly a decade, I have faithfully stood up for our Georgia values in the state house and I am running on my record, not from it.

My name is Kevin Cooke. I am a Christian, a husband, a father, a farmer, a small businessman, and a State Representative. I believe in limiting government, protecting freedom, cutting spending and upholding our Constitution and unlike my opponents, I can prove it. I ask for your vote for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.”

Cowan announces run for Georgia 14th seat

Election, Politics
Whitfield GOP

Conservative Republican John Cowan of Rome announced today he’s running for the open 14th Congressional District seat. Cowan, a neurosurgeon, said he’d strongly support the President’s agenda for the country while bringing his experience and expertise to find solutions for the nation’s healthcare crisis.

“As your representative, you’ll never have to question where I stand on the issues most important to you,” Cowan said. “I’ll promote and defend pro-life legislation, the Second Amendment, our borders, our religious freedoms, our military, our veterans and our first responders. I’ll stand for what has made America great, and I’ll fight against any efforts by the left to rebrand socialism, undermine our Constitution, or threaten our freedoms. I’ll represent the 14th District with integrity and champion hard work, individual responsibility, and free-market solutions. We’ve had a decade of strong representation from Congressman Tom Graves; we thank him for his service and look to continue the conservative leadership he provided to Congress.

“I’m running now because I believe I have the necessary skills and training to address the nation’s deepest needs. The values and freedoms that Americans hold dear are imperiled by our nation’s unsustainable healthcare spending. We spend more on healthcare than any developed nation yet have declining life expectancy and worse health. Healing a broken healthcare system will go a long way toward putting us back on the right path. This can’t happen without physicians in Congress. It’s time to make a House call.”

Cowan’s professional and civic experience has prepared him well to serve in the House.

“In the medical profession, I’ve spent my career healing, restoring, and putting my patients back on the path to good health,” said Cowan. “It’s the greatest reward to see patients get better. I now feel called to serve in a new capacity helping to provide the healing our country desperately needs.”

Cowan lives in Rome with his wife, Dr. Annie Cowan, an anesthesiologist he met while both were students at Johns Hopkins Medical School. She’s a pioneer in perioperative medicine and serves on the Medical Association of Georgia’s Opioid Task Force. John and Annie have four children and attend First Presbyterian Church of Rome, where John has served as an elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. He’s also an entrepreneur and small businessman who understands what it takes to create new jobs and meet a payroll.

Cowan said his principles reflect the deep conservative values of northwest Georgia: Faith, Family, and Freedom.

“I grew up on a cattle farm in northwest Georgia, where my family has lived for a century now,” Cowan said. “My community has invested in me and given me unbelievable opportunity. I want to represent our conservative values in Congress because we continually need a new supply of business and civic leaders who don’t come from the career political class. We need creative new ideas, rooted in traditional values.”

Cowan’s campaign will be chaired by Rome attorney Andy Garner, and former Rome Mayor Evie McNiece will serve as his campaign treasurer. Visit www.CowanForCongress.com.

Van Ausdal announce bid for Georgia 14th Congressional seat

Election, Politics

14th Congressional Van AusdalKevin Van Ausdal is excited and proud to announce his running for House Representative for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.
The first democratic candidate to run in the upcoming primary elections, Kevin is striving to represent the people of Northwest Georgia. His campaign slogan is “Save the American Dream.” He plans to do that by fighting for Americans to have access to healthcare, protecting programs like Social Security and Veterans Affairs, and holding corrupt politicians accountable for the harm that they have brought to America.

Originally from Indiana, Kevin moved to Georgia in 2011 to plant roots by graduating college, getting married, and starting a family. His interest in the government started at a young age when he volunteered as a page for the Indiana State Senate and House of Representatives. As a boy scout, he learned fellowship, leadership, and citizenship. Kevin currently works in the financial technology field and also as a poll worker for Catoosa county.

The primary election date is May 19, 2020. Learn more about Kevin Van Ausdal and his campaign at www.KevinVanAusdal.com.

Hembree announces bid for Georgia 14th Congressional seat

Election, Politics

14th Congressional District HembreeBill Hembree, successful small business owner and former State House Representative for Northwest Georgia has announced his campaign for U.S. Congress in Georgia’s 14th district. This is an open seat following current Representative Tom Graves’ decision not to seek re-election.

“I am a conservative Republican and a patriot who believes in the foundation of our country and I am running for United States Congress in Georgia’s 14th district with a passion for serving my home state and protecting the identity of America. It is time for me to re-enter the fight because I believe we are in the fight of our lives,” stated Hembree.

Bill was one of the original Republican lawmakers to actively campaign for President Trump in the 2016 Presidential election. He sees the potential of how Washington can change with a non-politician and recognized early that Trump was a man who could step up and expose what needs to change, and work to turn the tide.

“I understand the political process, and have always been a diligent student of our nation’s history and the intentions of our founding fathers. I am excited about the changes happening in our country under President Trump’s leadership, and I will serve as a strong conservative voice for Georgia and a valuable contributor to that change.”

As the first in his family to graduate from college, Bill was fostered as a leader and entrepreneur at a young age. After meeting President Ronald Reagan during high school, he was inspired to become a public servant. The timing of Bill’s announcement on President Reagan’s birthday reflects the deep impact meeting Reagan had on him as a young man. In 1992, he entered the Georgia State House at age 26 as the first Republican State Representative for District 67 – serving Paulding and Douglas Counties before lines were redrawn to include Cobb County. He served as Chairman of the Higher Education Committee, Industrial Relations Committee and Rules Committee during the course of his time in office until 2012.

Bill and his wife Beth have been married for 29 years and have three grown sons, Will, Thomas and Miles. Bill has built a successful insurance business, led Sunday School and leadership seminars, taught business classes at West Georgia Technical College and remains involved in the community.

Anchored in his Christian faith, love of family and led by conservative values, Bill feels a strong sense of duty to serve his state and his country.
