Rhonda Jean Young, age 52, of Chatsworth passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at her home.

Rhonda was a member of Liberty Tabernacle.

She enjoyed sewing and crafting; she could make anything. She loved the beach and anything that her six kids wanted to do.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Henderson; brother, William Henderson; maternal grandparents, William and Jeanette Pfeifer; and paternal grandparents, Claude and Vernia Henderson.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Ray Young of Chatsworth; son, Lance Young of Chatsworth; daughters and son-in-law, Peyton Young, Alli Young, Harper Young, Hannah Young, and Kayla and Kevin Collins – all of Chatsworth; father and stepmother, Ronnie and Tammie Henderson of Chatsworth; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Geneva Young of Chatsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Joe and Joan Henderson of Varnell, Cameron and Teresa Bergeron of Spanaway, WA, and John and Mirista Bowen of Chatsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Jim Grizzle of Chatsworth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Wendy Young, Denice and Joey Henderson, and James McBee – all of Chatsworth; grandchild, Kohen Collins; special friends, Kristie Pratt, Brenda Albertson, and Frank and Charlsie Bramlett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends.

The family will receive friends at Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Mr. Jackson was a member of Liberty Tabernacle in Chatsworth, GA; he was also an evangelist and gospel singer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Jackson; mother, Louise Russell Jackson; brothers, Houston, Lonnie, Dan, Earl, and Dave Jackson; sisters, Troyce Dean Henry, Hilda McDowell, Mildred Powell; daughter, Alice Chambers; great-granddaughter, Coley Louise Davis.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jackson will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Liberty Tabernacle Church with Rev. Bobby Rogers, Nathan Murphy and Daniel Woodson officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Tabernacle Church Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jewel L. Witherow Thomas age 91 of Chatsworth, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Eton Chapel Church of God; she enjoyed spending time with her family, and working in the yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Arzell Witherow; husband of 64 years Gus Thomas; son, Elbert Gus Thomas; siblings, Marvin Witherow, Arvil Witherow, and Arlene Cooper.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Mechelle Thomas of Chatsworth, Douglas and Connie Thomas of Chatsworth, and Joseph Thomas and Michelle Janke of Tunnel Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Bert Kammer of Ringgold, Rebecca (Becky) Caya of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Sudie Witherow of Chatsworth; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Judy Marlene Mealor: Obituary

Mrs. Judy Marlene Mealor age 69, of Chatsworth, went home to be with her Heavenly Father surrounded by her family on Friday, November 1, 2019.

A native of Chatsworth, Marlene attended Dalton College and West Georgia College. After marrying her husband, they moved throughout the country for his training with the United States Air Force. They then returned to Chatsworth to raise their two young children.

During her career, Marlene was employed with Dr. Shirley and Dr. Frady in Dalton; with Dr. Jim Adams physical therapy in Chatsworth; Dr. Redfearn and Dr. Lancaster in Dalton, and served as the office manager for Dr. Carlton Lancaster with Hamilton Health Care where she retired.

Marlene was an avid woman of faith. She enjoyed listening to gospel singings. She taught many children about God over the years at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Sunday School and through Vacation Bible School. Marlene enjoyed singing during the worship service.

During her free time and in her retirement years, Marlene enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to new places and making memories as well as spending time with her grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing to her.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Monteen Bowen Blankenship; sister, Linda Westmoreland.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Ray Mealor; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Tonya and Dr. Frank Kendrick of Charlotte, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lacy Mealor of Chatsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Angie and Ronnie Smith of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Reagan Davidson of Charlotte, NC, and Macy and Gracy Mealor of Chatsworth; nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3rd from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.

A celebration of the life of Marlene will be held in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Smith, Dr. Carlton Lancaster and Dr. Frank Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Harris officiating.

She was preceded by her parents: James and Evelyn Cochran.

Laura and Cody Howard of Chatsworth, Denice Hampton of Chatsworth, she also survived by her sister and brother in law Molly and Josh Haddock of Ellijay, brother and sister in law: James and Nora Cochran of Chatsworth.
