Mr. James Lee England age 83 of Chatsworth, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. England was retired from the US Army with over 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin & Mary England; brothers, Harold & Chester England; sister and brother-in-law, Cloteen & Walter (Buck) Etheridge; brothers-in-law, Gene Plummer & Bill Borden.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Junior & Rhonda England of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Patty & Kendall Dunn of Crandall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Brenda England of Chatsworth, Lucky & Janet England of Calhoun, David & Sue England of Chatsworth, and Annie England of California; sisters, Pauline Borden of Dalton, Aline Chastain of Chatsworth, and Elaine Plummer of Byron; grandchildren, Wendy Daniels, Julie Hawkes, Sherika Dover, Zach England, Chelsea Burton, Jeremiah Dunn, Josh Fowler, and Chance Fowler; great-grandchildren, Spencer England, Jase Dover, Bodhi Dover, Jaden Daniels, Jayce Daniels, Colton Hawkes, Kenzie Hawkes, Jackson Moore, and Olivia Moore; special nephew, John England; other extended family members also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. England will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 12 noon from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Grant Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery with full military honors by the US Army.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert Allen Stephenson age 72 of Crandall, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his residence.

He was a member of Agape Baptist Church. Robert enjoyed anything that involved race cars.

Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by his father, Edward Stephenson; mother and step-father, Evelyn Hitt Stephenson Nelson & James Nelson, Sr.; daughters, Angela Patterson and Sonya Stephenson; sister, Shirley Stephenson;

Survivors include wife, Neva Stephenson of Crandall; sons, Rodney Stephenson of Dalton, and Jeffery Baine of Crandall; son-in-law, Olan Patterson of Crandall; brothers, Jerry Stephenson and James Nelson, Jr. both of Dalton; grandchild, Nicholas Baine.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Stephenson will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Gary McPherson and Rev. Paul Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in the Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.

Mrs. Donna L. Welch, age 72, of Dalton passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, at the Hamilton Medical Center.  She was a member of Total Praise Baptist Church and the Antique Car Club.  She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Alma (Dee Dee) Lunsford.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years Leroy Welch of Dalton, Sons and Daughter-in-laws:  Tony Welch of Dalton, Tim and Stacy Welch of Dalton; Grandchildren and spouses:  Tyson and Haley of Dalton, Cassie and Brandon Townsend of Dalton, Savanna and Cody Withrow of Sumter, S.C., Carre Welch of Dalton, Hannah Chandler, MacKenzie Chandler and Cameron Chandler of Dalton; Great Grandchildren: Carter Langford, Cambree Ridley, Cashton Withrow, Kade Chandler, Reece Chandler; Sisters: Linda Wright and Delilah Middlebrooks both of Chatsworth.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Donna L. Welch will be Saturday, January  12, 2019, at 2 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Stocks and Rev. Donnie Caylor officiating.  Interment will follow at United Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 5-9 pm.

Mrs. Neatha Eara (Smith) McClain, age 68, of Dalton, passed away January 5, 2019, at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was born July 7, 1950, in Calhoun, GA and was a 1968 graduate of Calhoun High School. Her banking career began in Dalton and also when she relocated in Pikeville, KY. She was a member of Hall Memorial Baptist Church and also attended First Baptist Church in Pikeville. She was preceded in death by her parents; Dennis E. and Ida Parm Smith: four brothers: Robert (Jimmie), Jimmy Lee (Dot), Clifford, Billy Mack: sister: Wynette King (Harold).

She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Robert Stephen, one son and daughter in law:  Matt and Savanna McClain of Dalton, one daughter: Brittany McClain and special friend Jamie Davila, of Tunnel Hill, sisters:  Mary Dell Waters of Calhoun, Ebbie Jane Defoor, and Patsy Ann Adams both of Resaca and Linda Faye Potts of Sugar Valley, grandchildren: Hailey and Hannah Brown. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Services will be Wednesday 2 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Nance officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday 12 noon till the funeral hour.

Mrs. Joann “Jody” Lauterback, age 62, of Chatsworth passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Erlanger Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe, Sr. & Betty Coppit.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Godfrey; daughters, Denna Hollifield of Chatsworth, Keisha Godfrey of Paulding County, and Tasha Godfrey of Florida; sons, Chris Cox of Rome, Danny Hollifield of Chatsworth, and Christopher Hollifield of Chatsworth; sisters, Dale Anderson of Rossville and Staci Coppit of Alabama; brother, Joe Coppit, Jr. of Rossville;  and 10 grandchildren.

Mrs. Lauterback will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Danny Cochran officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth.

Mr.Jerry Gene Tankersley, age 81, passed away at his residence  July 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Kermit and Eva Winkler Tankersley, brothers: James E, Tim, and  Garland Tankersley and sister:  Edna Earl Scarbrough.

Mr. Tankersley is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanette Tankersley, son and daughter in law: Anthony and Donna Tankersley,daughter, and son in law: June and James Boutwell, all of Chatsworth, great-grandchildren: Sydney Tankersley, Bianca Miranda both of Chatsworth, great-grandchildren: James Palmer, of Chatsworth, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Tankersley will be Monday, July 29, 2019, at 12 noon. Minster Martin Fannin will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 10 am till the funeral hour at 12 noon.

Katherine Elaine “Kacky” Bauswell, age 46, of Chatsworth and formerly of Scott County, TN passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

She was employed by Shaw Industries for 22 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed yard sales, auctions, Bingo, and talking with her friends and family.

Mrs. Bauswell was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arlo and Beulah Strunk and Hoyle and Ella Jean Goodman; father-in-law, Rev. Robert Bauswell; and uncle, Manuel Strunk.

Mr. Billy Ray Minyard, 82 of Chatsworth, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at AdventHealth Gordon.

Billy was a member of Homeland Baptist Church. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved his bird. Billy was a faithful walker and had completed 5,000 miles and 60,000 laps at the Bradley Wellness Center.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Lyndal Minyard; parents, Joseph Dewey and Willie Estelle Minyard; brothers, Samuel Dane Minyard and Jimmy Minyard; sisters, Francis Eads, Linda Castleberry, Mary Griffin, Edna Minyard; daughter-in-law, Eva Minyard.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Sally Minyard of Apache Junction, Arizona, David Minyard of Chatsworth; daughter, Linda Mosley; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Dean Green of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Adrian Dean Green, Adam Garrett Minyard, Andrew Jarrett Minyard; nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by parents: Earnest and Reba Rod, first husband: Kenneth Smith, brothers: Johnny Roe and Willie Roe.

She is survived by her husband of six years: Sherman Lawson,, sisters and brothers: Judy Dotson of Chickamauga, Joann Rittenhouse, Ricky Roe and Tommy Roe all of Chatsworth and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Gail will be on Friday, February 15 at 1 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev Billy Webb officiating. Interment will be in Ball Creek Cemetery.
