Homer Lee Younes, age 81 of Tunnel Hill, passed away Friday, December 7th 2018 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cummings Younes; and daughter, Ardie Grayson.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Melinda Younes and Chris and Angie Younes; daughter, Sherry Younes; son-in-law James Grayson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Homer Younes will be 2:00 pm Sunday, December 9th 2018 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with Rev. Joe McEntire officiating. Burial will be in Gordy Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friend from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday, December 9th 2018.

Valerie Lynn Rymer, 41 of Crandall departed this life unexpectedly on December 11, 2018, at her home. Valerie was born on September 24, 1977, in Ellijay, Georgia to Gary and Connie Reed both of Ellijay, Georgia.
She is survived by her Spouse: Matthew Aaron Rymer
Children: Caitlin and Vincent Barnett, Chase Aaron Rymer and Rylie Lynn Rymer.
Grand-Children: Soren Gray Barnett and Cayde Auron Barnett
Parents: Gary and Connie Reed of Ellijay
Siblings: Jeremy Reed (brother)  (sister & husband) Brandy and Michael Dillard of Ellijay, Ga
Paternal Grandmother: “Granny B” Helen Newton if Chatsworth, Ga.
In-laws-

Judy and James Singleton of Chatsworth
Siblings in law: Christy & Timmy Myers, Cody James Cox, and Cheyenne Rane Rymer.
She is also survived by Tanner Reed and children, Kayla Hill, Dalyla Hill, Cooper Hill, Donavon DeFoor, Brantley DeFoor, Josie DeFoor and Reed DeFoor.
Many loved aunts, uncles, and extended family and cherished friends.
Her beloved pets, special mention – Bear and Max along with many others.
She is preceded in Death by: Granny Ellaree Watkins, Harley and Norma Rymer, and Elmer and Claudia Cline. Uncle Allen Teague.

Phillip Reed Lusk, 52, of Rydal, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents: Donald B. and Rosetta W. Lusk of Calhoun; brother: Jerry D. Lusk of Calhoun and sister: Dianne Ponders of CO.

Survivors include his sister: Connie Lusk Jones of Chatsworth.  nephews: Lucas L Jones of Chatsworth;  Paul B Lusk of Va. Beach VA;  Tony Perry and Clay Ponders of CO;  Shawn Perry of Alabama, nieces; Donna M Lusk and Jennifer M Mills of Va. Beach, VA; Lavelle Badger of Chatsworth and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Phillip’s life will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the Cloer Barn, Hwy 411 South, Chatsworth, GA.  All family and friends are invited to attend as we share stories and say goodbye to our dearly loved Phillip.

Mrs. Elsie Mae Babb, age 85, of Dalton, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard H. and Willie Mae Carney.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Guy Lee and Pauline Babb of Burlington, VT, Martha Hall of Dalton, Ricky and Linda Babb of Chatsworth, Susan and Kenny Owens of Crandall, Jenny Hayes of Chatsworth.

Grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Tiffany Hall of Cleveland, Krista and Adam Tankersley of Chatsworth, Chris Owens of Crandall, April Crow of Rock Springs, Melinda and Jamie Flood of Chatsworth, Daniel Hayes of Jasper, GA, Timothy and Angie Hayes of Chatsworth.  Ten Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia “Jenny” Hooper; infant son, John Allen Hooper; parents, O.B., Sr. and Meta Hooper; brother, Gerald Hooper; and sister, Gail Tankersley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lake Hooper; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Denise Hooper of Dallas, GA and Mark and Lisa Hooper of Chatsworth, stepson and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Lynn Lake of Dallas, TX; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Jim Dawson of Marietta, GA and Deanette and Greg Bryant of Brentwood, TN; brother and sister-in-law, O.B., Jr. and Myrtle Hooper of Chatsworth; sisters and brother-in-law, Louise Queen, Brenda Lewis, and Connie and Mike Ellis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Atkins and Rev. Curtis Easley officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Geneva Lance, age 89, of Chatsworth, passed away on November 19, 2018, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Robert Cecil (Pete) Lance.  Parents Sid and Pearl (Baggett) Baynes, children Terry and Eddie King, a Great Granddaughter Kylie Cochran. Sisters Gussie Forrest, Mae Forrest, Minnie Ridley, and Helen Robinson. Brothers, J.A. (Buck ) Baynes and Sam Baynes.

Survivors include her children and spouse, Linda King, Darlene King, Denise and Keith Flood all of Chatsworth. Eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Sisters, Nancy Green and Lorene Langham, and a brother Willie Baynes all of Chatsworth. Sisters in law, Oslee Kendrick and Eloise Lance both of Chatsworth. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday 4 pm at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Kilgore and David Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow in the New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday 4 till 9 pm

OCTOBER 31, 1944 ~ NOVEMBER 7, 2018 (AGE 74)

Mr. Larry David ( Red ) Swanson age 74 of Chatsworth passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Mr. Swanson was a 1964 graduate of Murray County High School, served in the United States Navy, Navy Reserve and the National Guard for 16 years. Served as a Peace Officier with Murray County Sheriffs Office for 18 years and was the first officer to teach the DARE program and a Corrections Officer with the State of Georgia in the Mobile Construction Unit for 10 years. Larry was a member of Dalton American Legion Post 112 where he was the Junior Vice President and Sergent at Arms. Mr. Swanson was a member of the 40/8 and elite group of men and women the that were veterans.  He also was a member of The Murray County Veterans Memorial Committee and one of the founding fathers that built the Murray County Veterans Park.

He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Flossie Swanson, mother Thelma Swanson Blackburn. sister, Becky Delarosa, brother and sisters in law C. T. (Wilma) Swanson and Frances Swanson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Swanson, Children Kristie Swanson and Kelly Swanson all of Chatsworth. Brother J. E. Swanson of Chatsworth. Grandchildren Diana Young of Blue Ridge, Julia Swanson of Opelika, AL Amy Swanson and Chloe Swanson both of Hixson, TN.  Great Grand Daughter Mckinnley Young of Blue Ridge several Nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Visitation will be Saturday 6 till 9 pm at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers Please make donations to The Murray County Veterans Memorial Fund, 120 East Cherokee Street, Chatsworth, GA 30705.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Earmon McPherson, son Jerry McPherson, brother Frankie Hedrick and sister, Freda Mae Hedden.

Mrs. Virginia Patterson Keener age 79 of Chatsworth passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Keener graduated from Murray County High School as the salutatorian and attended Lincoln Memorial University.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lillian (Beavers) Patterson.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years Neil H. Keener Sr., children and spouse, Todd and Robin Keener, Neil H. Keener Jr. all of Chatsworth.

Two grandchildren Jake and Maggie Keener both of Chatsworth. Special Freinds, Tracy Brindle, Lamar Dunn, Debbi Ellis, and Stacy Cochran.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Wincie Hicks Plemons, two sisters Ruth Pulliam and Elvalee Cantrell and a brother John Plemons.

Mrs. Pulliam is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Garner Pulliam.  One sister Sylvia Barnes of Chatsworth. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.
