Mr. Walter “Buck” Etheridge age 87 of Chatsworth, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Chatsworth Health Care.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cloteen England Etheridge; brothers, Clinton, J. L., R. E., Ray, and Billy Etheridge; sisters Emma Best and Katherine Young; parents, Dawes and Elizabeth Etheridge.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Grant & Nancy Etheridge and Dale & Susan Etheridge –all of Chatsworth; sister, Sue Gable of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Kristy & Carl Campbell, Audre & Joe Allen, Brandon Etheridge and Faith Etheridge; great grandchildren, John Grant Campbell, Riley Campbell, Karaline Campbell, Brody Allen, Sawyer Allen, and Nash Allen.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Etheridge will be held Thursday March 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Chas Bishop and Grant Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Church Cemetery.
The family will have an open viewing Wednesday from 5:00p.m. until 6:00 p.m. They will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Oran “Snake” Hogan, 90 of Chatsworth passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his residence.
He was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church, a member of the Murray County Search and Rescue Squad for 41 years. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He loved to play golf.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Jo Bishop Hogan; parents, Claude and Myrtle Hogan; brothers, S.L. Hogan, Boyd Hogan, Will Hogan, Loyd Hogan, Earl Hogan; sisters, Mary Lee Smith, and Syble Bowers;
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David Shoemaker of Chatsworth; brother, Emmett Hogan of Chatsworth; sister, Evelyn Hannah of Chatsworth; grandson, Kenny and Teresa Hunt; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Tiffany Hunt, Austin Scott and Kayley Harris; great great- granddaughter, Maci Brooke; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Oran “Snake” Hogan will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Hare and Emmett Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Marcia Messer Knapke will be 7:00 pm Thursday August 2nd 2018 from Spring Place Baptist Church, 441 GA 225 Chatsworth, GA 30705. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Spring Place Baptist Church.
Marcia, daughter of the late Willie and Ruth Messer, and late Martha Ann McConkey, was born February 26, 1956 in Chatsworth, GA. She worked in sales, recently retiring from vacation rentals. Marcia was “the most famous person in the room”, she loved to socialize and loved Key West, where she met her husband Mark. They were married for over fifteen years. She spent her time painting, gardening, and enjoying arts and crafts. Marcia was a big supporter of the Volunteer South Gulf County Fire Department at Cape San Blas.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Knapke of Port St. Joe at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park; daughter Keleigh J. Dyer of Chatsworth, GA; son US Navy MCPO H. Lee Dyer (Promise) of Guam; grandchildren Hunter, Santiago, Alec Dyer, and Joshua Dover; sisters Chrissie Booth of Chatsworth, GA and Shawn Berry of Crystal Springs, MS; numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Earnest Daniel Thomas, age 45, of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at his residence.
He is preceded in death by his father: Johnny Thomas, and his brother: Mark Thomas.
He is survived by his mother: Mattie Sue Thomas, sisters and brother-in-law: Robin and Aaron Wilson and Margaret Tallent all of Chatsworth, and brother: William Thomas of South Pittsburg, TN. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Mr. James C. Ledford, age 90, of Chatsworth passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Hamilton Medical Center.
James served in the United States Army and was a member and deacon of Holly Creek Baptist Church. He loved deep sea fishing, gardening, and building.
Mr. Ledford was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Langford Ledford; parents, Tom Ledford and Fannie Mae Mantooth Ledford; brothers, Lester Ledford and Vernon Ledford; and sisters, Retsel Wright, Cecil Hill, and Ruby McMurtry.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Joan Ross and Joyce and Roy Ellis of Chatsworth; grandchildren, James (Jamie) Parson and Maria Taylor of Crandall; great-grandchildren, Asa Taylor and Alexis Parson; brother and sister-in-law, Kermit and Pauline Ledford of Chatsworth; sisters, Thelma Harper of Dalton and Judy (Jewel) Scarbrough of Mississippi.

Mrs. Julie Alice Andrew Franklin, 74 of Chatsworth, gained her angel wings on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her residence surrounded by members of her loving family.
Julie was born on May 26, 1943 in Charlotte, NC to Lena Alice Mayes Andrew and E. William Andrew, Jr. She was a Murray County, GA resident for over 38 years.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents;
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Floyd Franklin of Chatsworth; son, Keith Franklin of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Julie Anne and Bradley Ridley of Chatsworth; grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Justin Ridley of Chatsworth, Benjamin and Jade Ridley of Dalton, Matthew Ridley of New York; sister and brother-in-law, Jone and Jim Cross; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Sandy Andrew; extended family also survives.
Julie grew up in Atlanta, where she was actively involved in chorus and scouting, she attained the highest honor for a girl scout a curved bar. She graduated from North Fulton High School and attended Georgia State University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
Her life in Murray County was spent working at Cohutta Lodge with her husband and for 30 years as the office manager at Murray County Veterinary Services, and as a loving wife and wonderful mother. Julie was a member of Chatsworth First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in the Fellowship Hall of Chatsworth First United Methodist Church with a service held at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Chatsworth First United Methodist Church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
