Mrs. Glenda Faye Shipman age 73 of Cohutta passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Shipman, mother, Lois Headrick, father, Glenn Headrick, grandchildren, Charlece and T. G. Henson.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Michael and Frankie Shipman, Daughter Lisa Cross all of Cohutta. Grandchildren, Brooke Bowling, Abby Shipman, Misty Henson, Dawn Henson and David Cross. Great Grandchildren, Raylee, Easton, Gabe, Cemera, Thomas, Taylor, Hannah, Aidan, and Isaac. Sisters, Pat Manis, Barbara Dixon and a brother Allen Headrick all of Dalton. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be Monday 5 pm at the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Joey Henderson and Donald Shipman officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 3 till 5 pm.

She was preceded in death by her son David Jackson, parents, Frances and Emogene Epps and a sister Wilma Bryant.

She was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed family gatherings and going to church.
Willie Belle was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Callahan.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Ivah Callahan of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and David Bean of Chatsworth, Dianne and Freddy Patterson of Dalton, Deborah and Lloyd Sitton of Chatsworth; sister-in-law, Helen Wade of Chatsworth; brother-in-law and spouse, Johnny and June Callahan of Chatsworth; grandchildren and spouses, Glynn and Ginny Boydston, Jacob and Ashley Bean, Stacy and Tanner Thomas, Sarah and Scott Farmer, Breann and Jordan Dooley, Eric and Sandra Sitton, Shaun and Danica Sitton, Josh Patterson, Chris and Heather Patterson; 18 great-grandchildren; extended family also survives.

John W. Peeples: Obituary
Obituaries April 30, 2018
John W. Peeples, age 80, of Chatsworth passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Tranquility of Dalton.
John founded Peeples Funeral Home with his brothers, Harlan and Julian, in 1965. He and his wife, Frances, eventually became the sole owners and went on to serve their community for decades. John was the eleventh of fourteen children in a farming family, and a strong work ethic was instilled in him from an early age. Whether he was at the funeral home, on his properties, or in his woodshop, John thrived on hard work and delighted in solving challenging problems. He taught his children and grandchildren to love God, take pride in their work, have a sense of humor, and always consider the needs of others before their own.
John served in the U. S. Army Reserve and was a member of Chatsworth First United Methodist Church and many organizations, including Lions Club International, American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth, the American Red Cross, Kiwanis International, the Eton Masonic Lodge #509 F&AM, and various trade associations. He was also inducted into the Murray County High School Alumni Hall of Fame. John was an avid big-game hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed restoring antique cars, woodworking, and collecting knives.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Frances Shields Peeples; parents, Isaac Mortimer & Leona Ratcliff Peeples; and brothers, Frank, George Robert, Mort, Jr., Morris, Bernard, Harlan, Paul, and Gerald Peeples.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Amy & Jerry Herndon and Valerie & Mark Talley; grandchildren, Wesley & Lesley Herndon, Rachel Herndon, Sloan Witherow, Millie Witherow, Emily Talley, and Ella Talley; great-granddaughter, Quinley Bryn Herndon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. James & Ann Peeples of Hickory, NC and Julian & Jane Peeples of Cohutta; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn Anderson of Chatsworth, Martha Ann & Jesse Hart of Montgomery, TX, and Mary Nell Calfee of Lufkin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Mr. Peeples would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Tranquility of Dalton and Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care that they provided.
Funeral services to celebrate John’s homegoing will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cochran and W. H. (Jim) Talley, Jr. officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.
John’s nephews will serve as pallbearers, and members of the Chatsworth Lions Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth.
The family of Mr. Peeples will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Mrs. Franklin was a member of West Burnsville Baptist Church in Burnsville, NC but also attended Holly Creek Baptist Church in Chatsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Park and Rovie Honeycutt Adkins; husband, Craig Franklin; daughter and son-in-law, Lena and Mack Perry; and granddaughter, Krista Stein.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Janie Franklin of Chatsworth; sister, Lorie Adkins of Burnsville, NC; grandchildren, Robin Keener, Kent Perry, Dawn Fuller, and David Franklin; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Mable Ensley and Alma Holder.
Funeral services for Mrs. Franklin will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Holcombe Bros. Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. Interment will follow at West Burnsville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Nancy Pearl Hughes Treece, age 76 of Ringgold, passed away Sunday, March 25th2018 at her home in her sleep.
She was born January 18th 1942 in Ringgold, Georgia to the late Quinton and Margaret Hughes. She was a faithful and active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church for many years where she played the piano, taught Sunday School, VBS and Ladies Bible Studies.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Billy S. Treece, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Butch and Cecilia Treece and Dewayne and Christine Treece; sisters, Jane Neil, Gaye Cooper, Faye Parr, and Mickey Stafford; brother, Tommy Hughes; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren;nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Nancy Treece will be 7:30 pm Thursday, March 29th 2018 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with Revs. Jackie Terry and Jimmy Bates officiating. Burial will be in Gordy Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Farris was a member of Newtown Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA. and a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, TN for over 50 years. He also was a retired certified welder for Y – 12 (Martin Marietta).
He was preceded in death by his spouses: Irene Martin Farris and Dora Bagwell Farris, parents: Emory and Martha Farris. brothers and sisters in law: Jewell and Lilly Farris, Junior and Nellie Farris and Paul Farris. sisters; Pauline Dinsmore and Francis Farris.
Survivors include son and daughter in law: Ralph and Brenda Farris of Chatsworth. granddaughter: Crystal Dawn Farris Locke of Chatsworth, great-grandsons ; Soloman Locke and Jeffson Locke both of Chatsworth. Caretakers and niece, Shelba and Herchel Sexton of Calhoun. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018, 5 till 9 pm at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home and Thursday 5 till 7 at Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge, TN.
