Mrs. Eloise Winkler age 96, of Chatsworth, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her residence.
She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Winkler was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. M.W. (Miley) Winkler; parents Rufus A. Mantooth & Jimmie Keith Mantooth; brothers, Lealon, Roy, Ralph, and R.A. Mantooth, Jr.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda West, Charlotte Chauncey, Rita & Jack Hawkins, and Vickie & Mark Chapman –all of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Keith Parrott, Audra Parrott Ramsey, Cale Hamby, Jill Beavers Rogers, and Zach Mealer; great-grandchildren, Justin Hamby, Derek Hamby, Tristan Kirby, Carolyne Ramsey, Kinley Ramsey, Owen Rogers, Grayson Gentry, Griffin Parrott, Hannah Mealer, Wesley Mealer, and Bree Rogers; great-great grandchildren, Dawson Hamby and Aubrey Hamby.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Winkler will be held Friday April 20, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cochran and Rev. Andrew Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Spring Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bessie V. Cline Pullen, 82 of Dalton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2018.
Bessie enjoyed cooking, going to church, gardening, and watching the Atlanta Braves games. She worked at Cornet Carpet for several years.
Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Irene Cline; husband, Gene Pullen; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Reba Cline; brothers-in-law, Floyd Pullen, Thomas Pullen, Ralph Stafford, and Barney Gallman; sisters-in-law, Lorene Dunn, Magdalene Cook, and Hazel Pullen.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Liz Pullen of Dalton; daughter, Deborah Goode of Dalton; grandkids, Amanda and Nathan Hawkins of Dalton, Anthony and Chelsea Pullen of Dalton, Sean Goode of Dalton, Jesse and Jaime Goode of Ringgold, Dustin and Autum Scoggins of Dalton; great grandkids, Dixie Hawkins, Bentley Pullen, Bennett Goode, Kendall Goode, Eli Scoggins, and soon to be born Bristol Pullen; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Wanda Cline; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Bill Walker, Myrtle and James Cochran; sister, Jewel McFarland; brothers-in-law and sister in-law, Howard Pullen, James and Debbie Pullen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rachel Stafford, Lucy and Robert Mantooth, Mary Lou Gallman, Minnie Ruth and Billy Ballew, Ann and Jerry Flood; extended family also survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clifford Massey II and Isabelle A. Chambers; and brother, Jerry Massey.
He is survived by his wife, Janean Massey; children, John Clifford Massey IV, Lynn Jones, Tammy Weeks, and John Massey; sisters, Yvonne Hardy, Nan Willson, and Brenda Carney; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, April 9th 2018 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with Rev. Daniel Addis officiating. Burial will be in Dunagan Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, April 8th 2018.

Daniel Ray (Cuz) Brown, age 67 of Tunnel Hill, passed away Friday, March 30th 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was a loyal employee of Shaw Plant DJ for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesse Everett and Willie Mae Arms Brown; sister, Jessie (Peggy) Mae Brown; brothers, Freddie Everett Brown, Manaseth Brown, and Robert Michael Brown; grandsons, Derrick Seth Brown and Sawyer (Peanut) Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nina Sue Brown; daughters, Victoria Jean (Rick) Patterson and Kimberly Dawn (Jason) Black; sons, Daniel Edward (Sonia) Brown, Joseph J. Brown, and Shawn Prescott (Brittany) Brown; sisters, Sue (Dee)Treece and Becky Arends; brothers, David (Judy) Brown and Dike Brown; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Daniel Brown will be 5:00 pm Sunday, April 1st 2018 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill.

Betty Jean Shoopman age 75 passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Shoopman, Parents Isaac and Barbara Reed, and two sisters, Doris Reed and Thelma Slaven.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Wayne and Tracy Morgan of Scott Co. TN, Gary Morgan of Dalton, James Morgan of Scott Co. TN. Shanae Morgan of Lafayette, and Brian Shoopman of Dalton. Eleven grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren. A sister Ruby Davis of Scott Co. TN, and a brother Ed Reed of Harriman, TN. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be Thursday 3 pm at the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 pm Thursday until the funeral at 3 pm.

Mr. Brown was a Test Engineer at Georgia Power since 1999.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Misty Taylor Brown, children: Jordan David, Taylor Danielle and fiance Jesse Olds, Christopher Bailey, Cameron Tyler, mother: Phyllis Marlene Dover and Johnny Jeffers of Chatsworth, mother in law: Cheryl Jean Taylor Gosnell of LaFollete, TN, brother & sister in law: Richard (Bubba) Erin and Sherry Dover of Chatsworth, sister: Angelia Carroll of Cleveland, TN., brother in law: Michael “Mikey” Taylor of Texas. Johnny was a member of Free Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard T. Hawkins and Buna Mae Hawkins; son, Leslie Todd Hawkins; daughter, Patricia Ann Hawkins.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Louise J. Hawkins of Dalton; daughters and son-in-law, Tina M. Babb of Dalton, Heather E. Hawkins and Tony Mendoza of Dalton; brother, Emmett D. Hawkins of Chatsworth; sister, Lucille Gulledge of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Heather Ann Mendoza, Holly J. Mendoza, Jonathon T. Babb, and Derek Hayes; extended family also survives.
Cremation services were provided by Peeples Funeral Home to honor his final request.

Mr. David J. Baggett age 74 of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Murray Medical Center.
Mr. Baggett was a home builder for over 40 years, a master woods craftsman, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
David was a wonderful man who loved everybody and everybody loved him.
Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman Baggett and Dessie Quarles Baggett; son-in-law, Randy Lents; brothers, Robert, Freddy, Odel, and Garmon; sisters, Gertrude, Delre, and Jeanette.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Baggett of Chatsworth; daughter, June Lents of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Grant & fiancée Charlotte Young, and James and Lori Grant –all of Chatsworth; brother, William Baggett of Walker County, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Bruce Taylor of Bremen, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Madison Lents, Ethan & Kali Lents, Austin Lents, Briana & Dewight Lawson, Kirsten & Robert Lee, Kane & Courtney Grant, Haley Grant, and Jay Cardd; great-grandchildren, Isabella Lents, Bryleigh, Silas, Jackson and Saylor Lawson, Adeline and Ava Grant; and several nieces and nephews.
