Mr. Kenneth L. Cantrell age 78 of Chatsworth passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Hobgood Cantrell, daughter, Sunday Dawn Cantrell Dixon, father Clyde Lee Cantrell, mother, Vera Lee Teems Elliott, brothers and sister in law, Lawrence “Larry” and Ruby Cantrell, and Ronnie Cantrell.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Derrian Cantrell and Makayla Dixon both of Chatsworth. Great grandchild, Aaliyah Dawn Hampton of Chatsworth. Sisters and brother in law, Carolyn and Mike Kamps of Dalton, and Rosa Roberts of Chattanooga. Sister in law, Janice Morgan of Tunnel Hill and a special friend Kimberly Helms of Dalton.

Graveside services will be Friday 12 noon at Murray Memorial Gardens with Jody Leslie officiating.

Mr. Reynold Mantooth age 82 of Crandall, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

He was a member of Cisco Baptist Church.

Mr. Mantooth was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. M. R. Mantooth and Dora Baxter Mantooth; wife Annie Ruth Crumbley Mantooth; sister, Mary M. Mantooth.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, James & Linda Mantooth of Chatsworth and Bobby & Kelly Mantooth of Cocoa Beach, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Rena & Ricky Robertson of Crandall; sisters, Joyce Mays of Crandall, and Mildred Kirby of Benton, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas & Belinda Crumbley of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Stella Jones of Chatsworth, and Ruby Sanford of Dalton; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Mantooth will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Smith and Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairy Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hazel N. Langford age 89, of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Regency Park.

Mrs. Langford was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth, a graduate of Berry College and a retired Murray County educator of 43 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Langford.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John & Rebecca Langford of Chattanooga, and Steve & Mary Jane Langford of Chatsworth; daughter, Meig Langford of Dalton; grandchildren, Rusty & Cassie Langford, Jess & Kristina Langford, Joseph & Morgan Langford, John Milton Langford, and Amanda Langford; great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Elisha, Josiah, Gracie, Emma, and Wyatt; nieces; nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Langford will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth with Rev. George Ross and Rusty Langford officiating. Interment will follow in the Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Patsy Silvers Duckett age 72 of Chatsworth passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah Silvers, grandson Matthew Maynard, and brothers, William “Bill” Silvers, Jay Silvers, and Mack Silvers.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie and Patty Duckett, Ricky and Kathy Duckett, Lisa and Joseph Winkler, Michelle Robinson all of Chatsworth. Father of her children James Duckett of Dalton.  Grandchildren, Timothy, Joshua, Jacob, Zachary, Kelsey, Jade, Brandon, Harley, Cody and Ashley. Several Great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Sisters Geraldine Wilson, Lucille Elrod, and Dorothy Bannister all of Chatsworth. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be Friday 11 am at the chapel of Shawn Chapman funeral home with Rev. Keith Reid officiating.  Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday 5 till 9 pm.

Mr. Robert Gordon “Bob” McLure, Jr. age 82 of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. McLure was a graduate of Calhoun High School and Georgia Tech. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. He enjoyed genealogy, reading and history.

Mr. McLure was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gordon McLure, Sr. and Lota J. McLure; sister, Nan Elizabeth McLure; father-in-law, Glenn Taylor.

Survivors include wife, Betty Taylor McLure of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill & Ashley McLure of Norcross, GA and Scott & Bobbi McLure of Kennesaw, GA; mother-in-law, Ruth Taylor of Crandall; brother-in-law and spouse, James & Carman Taylor of Otto, NC; grandchildren, Robert and Carolyn McLure of Norcross, Alexis, Christopher, and Catherine McLure of Kennesaw; very special cousin and spouse, Sarah & John Thomas of Huntsville, AL; and other cousins.

Mr. Claude Dean “Dino” Lawson age 46 of Chatsworth passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father Gene Patterson and his mother, Evelyn Patterson passed away a few hours later.

Survivors include his son, Cameron Lawson of Chatsworth. Sister and brother in law, Gloria and Tim Weaver of Chatsworth.

Brothers, Tim Patterson, Shane Patterson both of Chatsworth, and Wolf Patterson of Ellijay. Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 4 pm at the Liberty Tabernacle. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday 1 pm till the funeral hour at 4 pm.

He served in the United States Air Force, a member of the Dalton Masonic Lodge and a lifelong truck driver.

Mr. Hurley was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette (Sharp) Hurley, a daughter Vickie Stephens,  and parents, James Edward and Lou Ella (Snow) Hurley.

Survivors include a son Larry Carlton Hurley of Chatsworth. Brothers Kenneth Hurley of Warner Robbins, and Jerry Hurley of Calhoun. Sisters, Barbara Griffin of California and Roselle Caylor of Rocky Face. Several Grandchildren, Greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
