Murray County School Bus Driver Arrested for Grooming of a Minor for a Sexual Offense

PRESS RELEASE – On April 23rd, 2025, a complaint was brought to the School Resource Officers attention regarding unprofessional conduct of a Murray County School Bus Driver after the morning route was completed.
The initial report was processed and the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region One was requested. The school bus driver was not allowed to complete an afternoon route and was terminated on the 24th of April.
The GBI and the Murray County Sheriffs Office continued the investigation and interviews.
As a result of the investigation, Kenneth James Knight of Cleveland Hwy Whitfield County, Dalton, Georgia was arrested and charged with 3 counts of OCGA 16-12-100.5 Grooming of a Minor for a Sexual Offense and was arrested as of the 29th of April at approximately 4:00pm.
Kenneth James Knight is currently in the Murray County Jail being held awaiting a bond hearing. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is the lead agency in this case with the Murray County Sheriff’s Office as the assisting agency.
