Mrs. Essie Westmoreland Mantooth age 97, of Chatsworth, passed away Thursday March 23, 2017 at Chatsworth Health Care Center.

Mrs. Mantooth was a member of the Spring Place Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Mantooth; parents, Thomas and Mary Jennings Westmoreland; sisters, Sara Lou Kilgore, Willie Jo Thompson, and Mary Nell “Madie” Roberts; brother, Henry James Westmoreland; nieces, Henrietta McDaniel and Loretta Hardy; nephews, Doug Westmoreland and Glenn Roberts.

Survivors include, nieces, Thelma Jones of Chatsworth, Barbara O’Bryant of Dalton, and Lindy Roy of Birmingham, AL; nephews, Lamar Kilgore of Chatsworth, and Tommy Westmoreland of Foley, AL. A host of other relatives and many, many friends also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mantooth will be held Saturday March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
