Search warrants executed at Murray County Probate Court office in Chatsworth, GA

Chatsworth, Georgia – On Thursday, February 2, 2017, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), with the Murray County Sheriff’s Office and the Conasauga Circuit District Attorney’s Office executed a search warrant at the Murray County Probate Court’s office in Chatsworth. The search was for records related to missing funds.

The GBI’s Calhoun office began their investigation of the probate court office in February 2016 at the request of Conasauga Circuit District Attorney, Bert Poston. During an examination of the court’s accounting system, it was found that records relating to fines and disbursements had been altered by an employee.
