Mary Frances Dean Stone of Chatsworth, born August 27, 1930, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was a member of Homeland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 50 years, Charles Edward Stone; parents, Joe and Belle Dean; brothers, Gifford Dean, Claude Dean and Ralph Dean; sister, Jewerline Dean Bramblett.

Her family was the most important thing to Mary. She felt that her greatest blessings were her children and grandchildren. We are who we are today because of our Mother. We attribute all our successes in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education we received from her. She taught us to take “one day at a time” and always care for those who were less fortunate than you. She taught us compassion and caring.

Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy Stone Jones and Danny Jones of Chatsworth, Therese Stone Murphy and Mike Murphy of Mobile, AL; son, Johnny Edward Stone of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Deborah Taylor and Johnny Bowling, Dana and Calvin Hale, Blake Thomason, Timothy and Shauna Thomason; great-grandchildren, Charles Thomason, Ashley Taylor, Aleshia Hale and James Thomason; great-great-grandchildren, Braylyn Taylor, Adam Thomason, Kyle Million, Sabrina Million, Jason Thomason, Avery Thomason and Melody Thomason; brother, Junior Dean of Chatsworth. Multiple nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Stone will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Poteet officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens.
