Mr. Alvin L. Hackney, age 79, of Chatsworth, passed away on Wednesday, June 15 , 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Hackney is preceded in death by wife: Ida Witherow Hackney, parents: Donna & Winfred Hackney, brother: Darrell Hackney ,and one sister: Pam Hackney.

He is survived by his wife: Jane Long Hackney, step children: Tammy & Farrell Sanford, Michael & Tina Long, Jeffrey & Crystal Long, two brothers and sister in law: Herman & Trisha Hackney of Dalton, Charles & Wanda Hackney of Dalton,  Harold & Brenda Hackney of Marietta, Jack Hackney of Dalton, sisters and brothers in law: Frances & Lamar Smith of Dalton, Joan & Roy Southerland of Chatsworth and Lynda Hackney of Rocky Face, grandchildren: Patrick Sanford, Chasidy Sanford, Justin Long, Keisha Hamilton, Landon Long and Kylie Long.  Nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 16 from 5 until 9 pm at the funeral home. A private burial will be in Center Valley Cemetery.
