Mrs. Freddie Ceile Elam Shirley age 91 of Chatsworth, passed away Friday June 3, 2016.

Mrs. Shirley was a member of the Dawnville United Methodist Church. She loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lester Shirley; daughter, Patricia Ann Satterfield; parents, James Archy Elam and Mary Lilly Ragland Elam; sisters, Nona Alexander, Kathleen Elam, Janet Hester, Easy “Valley” Beckom, JoAnn Purdue; brothers, Sonny Elam, Jim Elam, Calvin Elam and baby brother, John Wesley Elam.

Survivors include, daughter, Lynne Shirley Bentley, Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, James Harold and Iris Thomason Shirley, Eustis, FL; sister, Marlene Suther, Selma, AL; sister-in-law, Ernestine Elam, Selma, AL; grandchildren, Crista Knittel, Chris Satterfield, Steven Scruggs, Stephanie Bishop, Matthew Scruggs; great-grandchildren, Emily Knittel, Nate Knittel, Oliva Scruggs, Sophia Scruggs, Lyla Scruggs, Cole Satterfield, Ahna Satterfield, Annsleigh Bishop.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley will be held Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Dawnville United Methodist Church with Rev. John Alvin Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawnville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Dawnville United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Mama Shirley Memorial Fund in care of Dawnville United Methodist Church 1409 Dawnville Rd NE, Dalton, GA 30721.
