Obituaries

Kenneth Edward Kendrick of Dalton, formerly of Chatsworth, peacefully departed from this life, March 16, 2016, at home with his family at his side.

He was born in East Tennessee and later moved to Dalton.  Kenneth attended Dalton Junior College and was certified in welding.  He worked for many years and retired from the City of Dalton Public Works.  (His coworkers affectionately nicknamed him “Chatsworth”.)  He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles in his younger years.  He is remembered by his children as being a good father, hard worker, and faithful provider.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents James and Lennie Powell Kendrick and brother Roland “Ronnie” Kendrick.

Kenneth is survived by his three children:  Daughter Gina (Jeff) Hawkins of Dalton, Sons: Kenneth Jr. and Keith of Chatsworth, Grandchildren:  Kenneth Hawkins and River Kendrick of Dalton and Kaycee Kendrick of Chatsworth; the mother of his children: Thelma Kirk of Chatsworth; nephew Jimmy Kendrick; sister-in-law Ruby Kendrick and several cousins.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 11 am at the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Susan Tankersley officiating.  Interment will be at Pine Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale, TN.  The family will receive friends Friday, March 18, 2016, from 5 until 9 pm.
