Mr. Eugene Laney, age 87, of Robbinsville, NC, and formally of Chatsworth, GA passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, surrounded by his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Theodore and Miranda Laney; sisters, Mildred Everett, Ruth Chandler, and Joy Ballew; brothers, Ralph Laney, Ted Laney, and Clell Laney. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carrie Laney; children, Fred Laney of Robbinsville, NC, Joyce Roberts of Robbinsville, NC, Dean Laney of Chatsworth, GA, Keith Laney and Judy of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Tara Roberts Noe of Chatsworth, GA, Sparky Roberts and Nikki, of Chatsworth, GA, Kris Laney and April, of Chatsworth, GA, Ted Laney of
Woodstock, GA, Justin Laney and Brittany, of Chatsworth, GA, Ben Laney of Robbinsville, NC; great grandhildren, Aidan Noe, Deacon Roberts, Dawson Roberts, Colin Sommerville, Jenna Laney, and Camden Laney all of Chatsworth.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3 p.m. on January 2nd at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Robbinsville, NC. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1-3. On Sunday, January 3rd, the family will receive friends from 1-3 at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth, GA.
