Georgia “Shorty” Manis, age 75, of Murray County passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus “Fate” Manis; mother, Myra Robinson; father, Van Robinson; son, Doug Manis; and grandchild, Daniel Pack.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus Manis, II of Chatsworth, Harlan & Christa Manis of Dalton, Joel & Tammy Manis of Blairsville, Michael “Greg” Manis of Chatsworth, Holly Manis of Chatsworth (wife of the late Doug Manis), and Tina Manis; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia & Jimmy Sluder of Crandall and Judy & Louie Silvers of Crandall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry & Hellen Robinson of Chatsworth, David & Tina Robinson of Dalton, Jeff & Sherry Robinson of McDonough, GA, and Buck & Joe Robinson of La Vista, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Oliver of Jonesboro, GA, Edith Fox of Tucker, GA, Peggy Reece of Marietta, GA, Myra Robinson of Marietta, GA, and Pam Wright of Calhoun; grandchildren, Christy Owens, Mary Rice, Timothy Silvers, Marcus Manis, III, Harlin Manis, Crystal Woodward, Cody Manis, and Charlie Manis; and great-grandchildren, Makayla Owens, Destiny Owens, Erica Slaughter, Jeffrey Slaughter, Amanda Rice, and Harlie Manis.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Manis will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Beason officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions toward the funeral expenses would be most appreciated.
