Mr. Troy Lee Whaley age 72 of Chatsworth, passed away Friday March 24, 2017.

Mr. Whaley was a US Army Veteran. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious achievement in connection with military operations against a hostile force in Vietnam from November 20, 1970 through March 10, 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Dixie Whaley; many brothers and sisters.

Survivors include, sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Whaley, Chattanooga, TN, Jacob and Jessica Whaley, Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Ed Henley, Ringgold, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Fred and Italia Whaley, Chatsworth, Mike and Kathy Whaley, Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Rick Woody, Old Fort, TN and Judy and Ronnie Gentry, Ocoee, TN; granddaughters, Morgan, Emma, Emily, Taylor, and Sophia; nieces; nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday March 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Whitfield County.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.
