Mr. Robert E. Tankersley age 89 of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2017 at Chatsworth Health Care Center.

He was a member of the Cool Springs Baptist Church.

Robert enjoyed his bee keeping and hunting.

Mr. Tankersley was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Edith Tankersley; parents, Cliff and Naomi Tankersley; brother, Ray Tankersley; sisters, Jannell Hooper and Anna Faye Patterson; special aunt, Kathryn Gravely.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Gail Tankersley, Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Sonny Green, Chatsworth; sister-in-law, Marjorie Tankersley, Chatsworth; grandchildren and spouses, Adam and Krista Tankersley, Ian and Melodi Tankersley, Spencer and Robin Green; great-grandchildren, Ella, Natalie, Claire, Lincoln, and Megan Tankersley; nieces; nephews; cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Tankersley will be held Saturday March 18, 2017 at 11: 00 a.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Beason and Rev. Jeremy Southers officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
