The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office says 27 year old Tiffany Gibson has been charged with two felony counts of 1st degree cruelty to children following the death of her 19 month old son last week.

The Sheriff’s Office says she also had a 5 year old child.

The charges came after the District Attorney’s Office reviewed the evidence collected by investigators and warrants were issued by the Magistrate Court.

According to Sheriff Scott Chitwood, the charges mean Gibson willfully failed to provide adequate care for her two children and severely compromised their well-being as a result of the neglect.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an autopsy on the 19 month old; the Sheriff’s Office is still waiting on that report.
