Mr. Floyd Jackson: Obituary

Mr. Floyd Jackson, age 81 of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He enjoyed hiking and camping in the mountains, especially the Great Smoky Mountains. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on February 28, 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Rob” and Fannie Jackson, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Marie Jackson, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Lena Jackson of Soddy Daisy, daughter Deborah “Debbie” Kay Jackson, daughter and son-in-law Martha Elaine Wilson and Alan Chastain, daughter and son-in-law Joanna Marie Griffin and Jason Griffin all of Chatsworth, Georgia; grand-children Kay and Donnie Blankenship, Darrell “D.J.” Summey, Brittney and Dallas York, Colby Wilson, Taylor Jackson, Luke, Seth ,and Grace Griffin; great grand-children Bailey, Erin, and Aubri Blankenship, Bentley and Riley York, and Caden Deal all of Chatsworth, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law Paul Jackson and Bernice Elrod, brother-in-law Rembert Ingle, sister-in-law Nancy Ingle, sister-in-law Helen Maxwell, sister-in-law Shirley Wooten; a great number of nieces
and nephews.

Funeral service for Mr. Jackson will be Monday, April 24 at 6 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Cochran officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 pm until the funeral hour.
