Mr. Melvin J. Coram: Obituary

Melvin J. Coram, age 83, of Chatsworth passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Melvin served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, and he was of the Baptist faith. He was also a proud, loving grandfather and treasured every moment he spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Beulah Coram; sister, Inez Medlin; great-grandson, Logan Harrington; niece Lillian Rutledge; and great-niece, Linda Porterfield.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Coram; stepsons, Bobby Sisson of Ellijay and Greg Sisson of Chatsworth; sister, Euna Vee Newton of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Steven Sisson, Holly Harrington, Sarah Harris, Nathan Sisson, Gregory Sisson, and John Sisson; two great-granddaughters, Morgan Harrington and Emily Harrington; two great-grandsons, Braelyn Nelson and Jasper Barr; nieces; and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Coram will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2016 from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm.
