Effie Gilbert: Obituary

Mrs. Effie Gilbert, age 87, of Chatsworth, passed away on February 21, 2020, at Chatsworth Health Care.

She was a devoted Christian and member of New Prospect Baptist Church and attended church until her health failed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Gilbert, Sr.: parents, Luther and Annie Floyd Vaugh: sons, James Gilbert, Jr., and Kelvin Gilbert: daughter, Pamela Elaine Gilbert: granddaughter, Pamela Renee Cox.

Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her daughter and son in law: Diane and Bobby Parker of Chatsworth: son, Michael Gilbert of Chatsworth: Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Gilbert will be Sunday, February 23, 2020, at 2 PM in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Tracey Baker officiating.  Interment will be in New Prospect Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11 until 2.
