Shirley Wanda Hughes: Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Wanda Hughes age 72 of Crandall, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Hospice of Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Hughes; parents, William Shaffer Swanson and Estella Earley Swanson;  sisters, Wilma Tucker, Louise Towel, Ruby Kimsey, Marie Prince; brothers, Bud and Ray Swanson;

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda & Tony Johnson of Crandall, Sherry & Rex Jones of Crandall, and Tracey & Larry Crawley of Chatsworth;  sisters-in-law, Cookie Swanson Stiles of Gastonia, NC, Loucrecia Hughes of Copperhill, TN, Carzella Voyles of Jasper, GA and Arlene Beason, LaFayette, GA; brother-in-law, Lamar Eller of Jasper, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Dennis Johnson, Mason Crawley, and Mitchell Crawley; great-grandchildren, Jay Ridley, Carter Langford and one on the way Charles Levi Johnson; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hughes will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Shane “Booger” Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairy Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
