Jewel L. Witherow Thomas: Obituary

Mrs. Jewel L. Witherow Thomas age 91 of Chatsworth, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Eton Chapel Church of God; she enjoyed spending time with her family, and working in the yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Arzell Witherow; husband of 64 years Gus Thomas; son, Elbert Gus Thomas; siblings, Marvin Witherow, Arvil Witherow, and Arlene Cooper.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Mechelle Thomas of Chatsworth, Douglas and Connie Thomas of Chatsworth, and Joseph Thomas and Michelle Janke of Tunnel Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Bert Kammer of Ringgold, Rebecca (Becky) Caya of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Sudie Witherow of Chatsworth; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Thomas will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Harrison Chapel Cemetery Annex.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
