Fred Edward Whaley, age 80, of Chatsworth passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital.
Fred enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus and was a loving grand-pa to his granddaughter, Aspen. He was also a wonderful father and a man who was well-respected by his community.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie R. Whaley; father, Kenneth Whaley; sisters, Rosetta W. Lusk and Thelma W. Barmore; and brothers, W. A. Whaley, Charles L. Whaley, Melvin R. Whaley, Troy L. Whaley, and Donnie L. Whaley.
Survivors include his wife, Italia C. Whaley; sons, Michael E. Whaley of Chatsworth and Paul E. Whaley of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Nathan Vineyard of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kathy Whaley of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Rick Woody of Old Fort, TN and Judy and Ronnie Gentry of Ocoee, TN; granddaughter, Aspen Ellie Vineyard; nieces; and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Whaley will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Green and Rev. Rick Woody officiating. Interment will follow at Center Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
