Mr. Roy “Bud” Glenn Black: Obituary

Mr. Roy “Bud” Glenn Black, 76, of Chatsworth passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at Murray Medical Center.

Bud was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church and was a devoted husband, father, and brother, and was known for his kindness and generosity in the community. He enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Leroy Black and Bernice Black; brothers, William “Cork” Black and Johnny “Jack” Black.

Survivors include his loving wife Lynda Black of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Amanda Black of Cumming, GA; daughter, Hailey Brock of Dalton; sisters, Carolyn Black Butler of Calhoun, Faye Black Harrison of Chatsworth, Kathie Black Mosteller of Dalton, and Deborah Black of Calhoun; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Brian and Karen Dunn of Crandall, Brenda Black of Eton; grandchildren, Hayden Brock, James “Jay” Black, Sarah Kate Black; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy “Bud” Glenn Black will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Holly Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Cochran, George Bryant, and Bobby Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.

Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth.

The family will receive friends at Holly Creek Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
