Mr. Harlan Peeples: Obituary

Mr. Harlan Peeples age 86 of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday May 6, 2016 at Regency Park.

Mr. Peeples served in the US Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. Harlan owned and operated Peeples Produce for 20 years. In 1965, he and his brothers, John and Julian began Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth. He later left to become the Probate Judge for Murray County from 1977 to 1993. Mr. Peeples was a member of the Chatsworth First United Methodist Church and was the oldest remaining member of the Chatsworth Lions Club. Following retirement as Probate Judge he worked part-time with Peeples Funeral Home.

Mr. Peeples was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Wilbanks Peeples; parents, Isaac Mortimer Peeples and Leona Ratcliff Peeples; six brothers; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Mullinax Peeples, Chatsworth; son, Billy Peeples, Chatsworth; daughter, Lisa Capizzi, Woodstock, GA; step-son and spouse, Joe and Jordana Swanson, Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Jim and Ann Peeples, Hickory, NC, John and Frances Peeples, Chatsworth, Gerald and Linda Peeples, Rocky Face, Julian and Jane Peeples, Varnell; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn Anderson, Chatsworth, Martha and Jesse Hart, Montgomery, TX, Mary Nell Calfee, Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Shaye Byers, Marissa and Jake Capizzi, Sarah Peeples, Charlie and Harper Swanson; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Harlan Peeples will be held Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chatsworth First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tamlyn Collins, Rev. George Ross and Dr. Jim Peeples officiating. Interment will follow in the Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chatsworth First United Methodist Church, 111 W Cherokee Street Chatsworth, GA 30705
